Webmaster Update
This weekend, Troop 72 held a Leadership Training retreat that brought both learning and fun together in true scouting spirit. Scouts arrived around midday, ready to dive into the responsibilities and skills that come with being a leader in our troop. From the start, we jumped into interactive sessions that included watching leadership videos, engaging in thoughtful discussions, and sharing ideas about what makes a great leader.
Throughout the day, we covered a variety of topics—like communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leading by example. To break things up, we went on a scenic hike, giving us time to reflect, recharge, and bond as a group. We also played several games designed to teach leadership in action, where every challenge came with a lesson—whether it was about trust, planning, or stepping up under pressure.
The next day, we had a unique opportunity to showcase our troop to potential new scouts and their families at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. It was a chance to put our leadership training into practice—answering questions, guiding younger scouts, and showing what Troop 72 is all about. During the quieter moments between events, we circled back to more leadership development, making sure the whole weekend balanced learning with experience.
By the end of the retreat, each of us walked away with a stronger sense of confidence and purpose as leaders in our troop. It was a weekend full of growth, reflection, and excitement for the year ahead.
