Archery Trip at Gamelines Archery Club

Sep 25, 2018

Webmaster Update

This past weekend, Troop 72 had the opportunity to spend a day at Gamelines Archery, tucked away in the beautiful foothills of Boulder. It was more than just a field trip—it was a hands-on experience that gave us a deeper appreciation for the sport of archery and the values that come with it.

From the moment we arrived, it was clear that Gamelines Archery Club is all about more than just hitting a target. The instructors welcomed us with a focus on safety first, making sure we understood how to handle the equipment properly and respectfully. Even those of us who had never picked up a bow before felt confident and supported.

Throughout the day, we learned how to improve our aim, our stance, and our focus. But we also picked up some unexpected lessons—like the importance of patience, discipline, and being aware of our surroundings. The staff really took the time to teach us, and it was obvious they cared deeply about passing on their knowledge in a way that made it fun and memorable.

One of the best parts was the team spirit that developed as we encouraged each other through every shot. We laughed, learned, and got better together. It wasn’t about competition—it was about challenging ourselves and enjoying the moment. The club's emphasis on sportsmanship, friendship, and family fun made it feel like we were part of something bigger.

At the end of the day, we left with more than just a new skill—we left with shared memories, a new respect for archery, and a stronger bond as a troop. Big thanks to Gamelines Archery for hosting us and giving us an experience we won’t forget!
